Courses in Boating

Safe and courteous boating is more important than ever before. With the rules on the water changing, it's very important that you are up to date in current regulations, safety procedures and equipment requirements. Through the Boating, Piloting and Advanced Piloting courses, your navigation, rough weather and boat handling skills will be enhanced. For those of you not interested in the full Boating Course, just want to get a taste of it or just want to get your Pleasure Craft Operators Card (PCOC), we offer the Canadian Coast Guard accredited Boat Pro course. This course is also good for younger boaters who need the PCOC card but for whom the full Boating Course is a little much.

More interested in CPS elective courses? We are currently offering Marine Maintenance, Seamanship Power, Seamanship Sail and Weather. We also plan to offer a GPS navigation course in the fall. Stay tuned for details. And as always, we offer Radio Talk (VHF Radio Course) twice each year. CPS is now the only authorized body overseeing all the testing for Industry Canada's Restricted Marine Operator's License.

Please review the course descriptions and their scheduled dates on the Course Calendar and online registration.
If you have any questions, please contact the Training Officer.
